Smith delivers dazzling half dozen

MICHAEL Smith was victorious once again in PDC Home Tour Three as he won Group 14, following up from Tuesday’s Group 11 victory.

Smith made it a clean sweep in Friday’s play in winning all six of his matches with wins over Marko Kantele, Martijn Kleermaker, Chris Dobey, Harald Leitinger, Adam Hunt and Alan Tabern - dropping just six legs in the process.

World No.22 Chris Dobey ended the day in second as he won five of his six matches, defeating everyone bar Smith - dropping five legs along the way including whitewash wins over Kleermaker and fellow Geordie, Hunt.

Smith’s fellow St Helens thrower, Tabern ended the day with four wins from six, Dutchman Kleermaker won just half of his matches with three wins, Finland’s Kantele ended the day with just two wins and both Hunt and Leitinger contested the final game of the day with both losing their opening five matches. Hunt came out a 4-2 victor leaving Leitinger empty handed with six defeats from six and winning just five legs across the day.

The PDC Home returns on Monday with the field of the play yet to be confirmed. The week’s play will run up until Friday 11th December, which will the top seven from an overall leaderboard from 18 groups, secure qualification for the Championship Group, where they will earn their chance to win PDC Home Tour Three.
